Synopsis:

Mellow Summers has already solved one murder mystery when she met the ghost Rachel. But now that Rachel has gone, Mellow hopes to continue with a normal life. But normal is not in her future. One night Timothy shows up claiming to have been murdered. Now Mellow must help another ghost solve a mystery. At the same time, various businesses have experienced thefts of small, but valuable items. Even the Candle Shoppe is a victim. In investigating Timothy's murder and the many thefts, Mellow is led to the dreaded and haunted Pen Mill's Estate. Can she solve both mysteries before she gets scared out of her wits?

My rating: ★★★★☆

Mellow thought her days of talking to ghosts was in the past. Boy was she wrong! Thanks to Rachel's recommendation, Timothy comes to Mel's apartment claiming to have been murdered and wanting her help to solve the murder. She concedes, somewhat reluctantly, only to later realize that there is more to this mystery than just murder.

Frogs, Snails, And A Lot Of Wails was a lot of fun, just like the last one! But I have to admit that the mystery itself was kind of meh for me, though the ending with Mel and Jackie in the haunted house was quite suspenseful! Our new ghost Timothy was hilarious! Another new character I love: Tiny! Who would've thought Mel would've made friends with a freakin' biker gang! We met him in the previous book, but we got to see a lot more of him in this one. I thought it was hilarious and I can definitely see him coming in oh-so handy in later books ;) Another new character, one I disliked very much, was Jeremy who had a thing for Mel. But oh my gods what a f*cking a**hole! I don't know what the heck his deal was, but he was SO annoying! I hated him! And come on, there is now way Mel is gonna trade Greg for this freak show... Greg is the sweetest thing ever!

I am really loving this series with its mixture of lighthearted humor and creepy mystery!

  1. I want to read this series. The characters sound fun. Sometimes the mystery is too easy for me too or not that big of a deal, but if the characters are good and the ending is good, I come away happy. Thanks for your review!
